When You're Around

I woke up this morning and I put my sneakers on

Tryna' catch the taxi headed home

I drop my luggage and I run across your lawn

Try to look like Ididn’t just wake up

We went to the beach together

Got me thinking “am I good enough?”

I go to hold your hand

I slip and almost drown

That’s when I say:

What am I supposed to do

When you’re around

I’m tryna impress you

I wanna undress you

There’s nobody else

Who I’d rather be

When I am around you

I’m glad that I found you

I’ve got nothing left

Of who I used to be

We got some ice cream and we took a little walk

I could barely take two steps

I thought you’d kiss me, you leaned in, I start to talk

I was stuck inside my head

You started to run much faster

Got me thinking “am I strong enough?”

I slip and lose my stance

You catch me in a dance

That’s when I say:

What am I supposed to do

When you’re around

I’m tryna impress you

I wanna undress you

There’s nobody else

Who I’d rather be

When I am around you

I’m glad that I found you

I’ve got nothing left

Of who I used to be

Cause I have been through girls

Who thought they knew

Who i’m supposed to be

I will wait

For the day that I’m with you

Cause now I know

That’s who I’m supposed to be

Hopefully

Then I arrive one morning

You’re on the phone with someone new

A handsome guy who really loves you

What can I do

After our time together

Is this distance far enough

But how can I erase

The memory of your face

Oh god

What am I supposed to do

When you’re around

I’m tryna impress you

I wanna undress you

There’s nobody else

Who I’d rather be

When I am around you

I’m glad that I found you

I’ve got nothing left

Of who I used to be

I’m tryna impress you

I wanna undress you

There’s nobody else

Who I’d rather be

You’re calling out to me

I’ve got nothing left

Of who I used to be
